A verse of Scripture has brought me great encouragement as I try to stop thinking about so many things in my path right now and get some much needed rest.
It is in 1 Peter 3 (KJV)...
"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands... While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning ...But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement."
That last phrase sticks to me...
'not afraid with any amazement'
Also...
'a meek and QUIET spirit'
That's what I want to be, BEAUTIFUL!
The issues will all be what they will be.
I WILL CHOOSE to think on things that are pure and lovely and of good report so that I may enjoy inner peace.
I WILL CHOOSE to commit all my ways to the Lord and trust Him to direct.
I WILL CHOOSE to tell God my needs and my cares because I know He cares for me and I will thank Him for His answers.
