We have an AMAZING God, who desires that we, in truth, may call Him Father!
"The saying is sure and worthy of confidence: If we have died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.
If we deny and disown and reject Him, He will also deny and disown and reject us.
If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself."
(2 Timothy 2:11-13 AMP)
"...I will visit [punishment] upon her for the feast days ...when she ...decked herself with her earrings and nose rings and her jewelry and went after her lovers and forgot Me, says the Lord.
Therefore, behold, I will allure her and bring her into the wilderness, and I will speak tenderly and to her heart. There I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of [troubling] to be for her a door of hope and expectation. And she shall sing there and respond as in the days of her youth and as at the time when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. I will even betroth you to Me in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord.
And in that day I will respond, says the Lord; I will respond to the heavens [which ask for rain to pour on the earth], and they shall respond to the earth [which begs for the rain it needs], And the earth shall respond to the grain and the wine and the oil [which beseech it to bring them forth], and these shall respond to [the restored, who prays for a supply of them]. And I will sow her for Myself anew in the land, and I will have love, pity, and mercy for her who had not obtained love, pity, and mercy; and I will say to those who were not My people, You are My people, and they shall say, You are my God!"
(Hosea 2:13-15, 19-23 AMP)
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God's people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy. Beloved, I implore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower nature) that wage war against the soul."
(1 Peter 2:9-11 AMP)
Amen.
The part of this passage that I hold very close to my heart is...
"And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. I will even betroth you to Me in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord."
My Grandma gave me this verse when I thought God would frown on me forever... and it has been brought back to my mind over and over through the years when I am deeply discouraged.
Bless the Lord oh my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name. He has done great things!
