I know that the following is a prophecy concerning a country, but I believe that what God is like and how He thinks can be seen in His dealings with the nations.
And if God says this about nations, how might He address the individual?
"Cursed be he who does the work of the Lord negligently [with slackness, deceitfully]...
_____has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees ...Therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent has not changed."
(Jeremiah 48:10-11 AMP)
That being the negative, here is the positive...
"...God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ.
Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance.
Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life.
But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse.
This is a terrific responsibility. Is anyone competent to take it on? No—but at least we don’t take God’s Word, water it down, and then take it to the streets to sell it cheap.
We stand in Christ’s presence when we speak; God looks us in the face. We get what we say straight from God and say it as honestly as we can."
(2 Corinthians 2:14-16 MSG)
May God give us grace to live in such a way that we do not dishonor the name of Christ.
"...Instruct certain people not to spread false teachings, nor to occupy themselves with myths ...Such things promote useless speculations rather than God’s redemptive plan that operates by faith.
But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.
Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently."
(1 Timothy 1:3-7 NET)
So true today... SO TRUE...
"...they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently."
